Hi all!
My journey across America has continued! And as it has I've had a couple of opportunities present themselves to me!
Perhaps the most exciting one being a trip to Peru next year! A friend that I have met along the way told me about a programme called 'Challenge Peru', in which I would get to volunteer at a school in Cusco, teaching English, and anything else that I think might be relevant. The programme also includes a trek of the inca trail and Machu Picchu! Which is something I would absolutely love to do!
Machu Picchu!
So I've decided that along with music, I want to teach them the art of filmmaking!
I've always thought the work of women's annex and the projects that film annex are involved with in Afghanistan are highly effective, and I would love to make a difference to someone's life in this way!
Life can be very hard in Peru for the children I will be working with, so giving them the chance to make films, either to escape for a little while and really enjoy themselves, or to express their feelings on certain topics will be a great outlet for them!
the school I will be teaching in!
But I would love to hear your ideas! And any advice you might have? I will be working with primary school children of all ages, so any advice anybody might have... Or any good examples of films to show them that might be identifiable for them would be fantastic!
I will keep you updated with it all! :-)
