Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 and we’ve got some images from the set of the film featuring star Megan Fox as April O’Neil, albeit in her best Britney Spears disguise. Check them out below!
Fox leads a cast that includes Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick and William Fichtner as Eric Sacks. Newcomers to the franchise include “Arrow” star Stephen Amell as the masked vigilante Casey Jones, Tyler Perry as scientist Baxter Stockman, and Brian Tee as the new Shredder. Though they remain uncast, it was recently confirmed that villains Bebop and Rocksteady will appear in the sequel.
The original film, which grossed more than $485 million at the worldwide box office, also starred Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Danny Woodburn, Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub, although their involvement has not yet been confirmed for the sequel.
While some felt the film was a muddled mess that lived up to all the pre-release outrage, others recognized its flaws but recognized it as a fun popcorn film that aimed to reinvigorate the decades-old franchise for a modern audience. In any case, the film’s $485 million worldwide box office take ensured that this incarnation of the “heroes on a half-shell” was far from over.
So far, details about TMNT2 have confirmed much speculation that popular characters like Casey Jones and Baxter Stockman would be introduced and that Bebop and Rocksteady would finally make their much-anticipated live-action debut. Now we have another glimpse at how the sequel is coming together directly from the man many of the reboot’s haters hold responsible.
Although the ending of the first film featured a brief hint at the turtles’ primary mode of transportation, it looks like they will have upgraded by the time the sequel rolls around. This one looks like a tricked-out, reinforced garbage truck and will probably serve the turtles in battle far better than the van they were previously seen riding around in. Moreover, the manhole cover on the front is a slick homage to their subterranean home, while the mention of the “Tartaruga Brothers” scrawled across the side is both a sly reference to the truck’s inhabitants (tartaruga means “turtle” in Italian) and acknowledges the heroes’ mission at remaining incognito while fighting crime.
The third photo Bay tweeted is a Polaris Slingshot, a new three-wheeled motorcycle. There’s no indication just yet as far as who will be riding in this one, but considering the fact that the vehicle wouldn’t exactly provide the best cover for the turtles, smart money is on one of the human characters piloting this one. It isn’t hard to picture Stephen Amell’s Casey Jones driving this during a high-speed chase with the turtles, but that’s purely speculation at this point.
