Heavily armed terrorists believed to be from Pakistan- based Jaish-e-Mohammed terror outfit had yesterday stormed an Indian army base in Uri in Kashmir, killing 18 soldiers and injuring many others. No group, however, has claimed responsibility for the attack and Pakistan denied any role. As the attackers had stormed the base in a pre-dawn ambush when the Indian soldiers were sleeping, the loss on Indian part was heavy. The attackers were four in number and all of them were killed. It is the deadliest attack on security forces in Kashmir in two decades.
