Would you buy your current car again? That’s a tough one, but it shows how satisfied a car owner is with his current set of wheels – and the Tesla Model S topped Consumer Reports’ survey for the second year in a row.
More specifically, 98 out of 100 Model S owners said that they would buy it again if they had to. That’s one less than in 2013 but, still, it’s a remarkable result: “Not only is the Tesla roomy, comfortable and a lot of fun to drive, but it also has low operating costs”, said Consumer Reports.
The survey covered 350,000 vehicles from one to three years old and, according to CR, investigated attributes like “styling, comfort, features, cargo space, fuel economy, maintenance and repair costs, overall value and driving dynamics”.
What’s interesting about this year is that the three best vehicles after the Tesla were sports cars. TheChevrolet Corvette Stingray managed a 95 percent satisfaction rate while Porsche’s Cayman and Boxster tied for third place, with a 91 percent rating.
It seems that Elon Musk’s brainchild isn’t the only eco-friendly model to beat its conventional rivals.Consumer Reports also found out that electrics, hybrids and diesels outscore gas-powered cars: the Chevrolet Volt and Toyota Prius topped the compact-car segment and the Honda Accord Hybrid and Ford Fusion Energi the mid-sized sedans.
