About the Show
"So You Think You Can Dance" is an American TV reality show that is based on dance competition and it airs that airs on Fox entertainment channel in the United States and other franchises.
History
The series started on July 20, 2005 with approximately, over 10 million viewers and finished the summer season as the top in the ratings. So You Think You Can Dance was the creation of American Idol producer Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe.
The Format of the Show
The show's format where the dancers were from a variety of styles enter when the auditions are open held in many major cities to showcase their unique styles and talents and, if they pass allowed to move forward, then are put through additional rounds of auditions to test their abilities to adapt to different styles. When this process ends, a Lesser number of dancers are chosen as the finalists. These dancers move further to the competition's main phase, where they perform different rounds like solo, duet, and group dance numbers in a variety of styles.
Host of the Show
The host of the show was Lauren Sanchez she hosted the show for the first season and then she left the show to have her second baby.
and the other host is also a woman Named as Cat Deeley she was the the permanent show host for all the successful seasons of So You Think You Can Dance.
Judges of the show
The judges panel has also varied considerably with respect to their size,position and their composition over many series. For the season typically 2 or 3 permanent judges with an additional 1 or 2 guest judges for most episodes, with the panel the sow move up from six to nine members for Vegas Week and the finale. Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe was the permanent judge on the panel for all eleven seasons. Other permanent judges including ballroom specialist Mary Murphy, the film director and choreographer Adam Shankman and contemporary choreographer Mia Micheals.

Season 1
The season of the show was the outstanding one because it was the first dance competition show so far and very much new in the television by the Channel Fox. The episode of the Show was broadcast on 20th July 2005.The judges includes Nigel Lythgoe as the main judge of all the seasons so far and other judges includes named as Mia Michaels ,Mary Murphy and David Shankman.The Host of the First Season was Lauren Sanchez.

Season 2
The second season was aired on 12 May, 2006. There were top 20 finalists on 8th June. Travis Wall was the first runner-up and Donyelle Jones was named as the second runner-up. There were small changes with respect to the show's format in the second season. This season was the first in case who's episodes watched two episodes per week, splitting out the bulk of the performances and the voting results segments between the two nights. New styles of dance were also introduced. The winning prize was increased from US$100,000 to $250,000 and also included a new car and a one-year contract to perform in a show then performing Las Vegas.

Season 3
The Auditions started for season 3 began in October 2006, held in many major cities of America like New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Atlanta. The previous season, those that made the move to Las Vegas. The taped auditions aired on the Fox on 24th May, 2007, and the shows were taped and broadcast live for a 12-week season. Cat Delley came back as host, and Nigel Lythgoe also came back as permanent judge. Joining Lythgoe permanently at the judging table was Mary Murphy. The prize for the winner remained the same as it was in the second season at $250,000 cash.

Season 4
The auditions for Season 4 started in Texas city on January 17 and almost took place in six locations in March 2008. The show was based on two hours and its premiere was on May 22, 2008. The Host was the same as the Judges except the guest judges. This season introduced the new dance styles, including Bollywood, and new choreographers, including hip-hop. The prize for the winner was again the same like ever before $250,000 cash and the winners would perform in the latest upcoming movie Step Up 3D.

Season 5
The auditions for the Season 5th started off in New York City on November 13, 2008 and continued on to Miami, Los Angeles. The shows premiere aired on May 21, 2009. Louis Van Amstel joined as the new of choreographers. The prize for the winner was once again $250,000 cash the same.

Season 6
The sixth season of So You Think You Can Dance, was broadcast on Wednesday, 9th of September, 2009. The Show's auditions were held in Boston, Los Angeles, New Orleans. Adam Shankman joined as the permanent judge like for the first time this season.

Season 7
The auditions started in Miami and Florida, on 18th of January , 2010, continuing through out the Major Cities like New York, Dallas, Nashville, and Chicago and ending in Los Angeles on March 26. The season premiere was aired on 27 of May, 2010. This season the format of the show was little change with respect to the contestants. Instead of Top 11 dancers of the traditional Top 20 and All other Stars, contestants from previous seasons who returned to partner with the Top 11 for a portion of their routines.

Season 8
The auditions started on October 13, 2010 in OakLand,California and continued through all November 15 in New York. The premiere of the show aired on May 26, 2011. This season the show began a new version for the stars with respect to the format and the format in which the All Stars didn't come in until the top 10. The show come back to a top 20 with couples. That season also marks the first time for the ease of the public they could cast the vote online.

Season 9
Fox announced that it had renewed the dance competition On October 6, 2011, So You Think You Can Dance for a ninth season, which was premiere on 24 May, 2012. In January 2012, Lythgoe also announced that the result shows had been force by Fox. On May 18, 2012, he also announced that two winners will be crowned: a male and a female.

Season 10
The Fox announced that So You Think You Can Dance should be renewed for its tenth season On December 20, 2012. Season 10 premiere was on May 14, 2013. The show was based on two-part premiere that was concluded on May 15, 2013 at 9 p.m. Becoming the first contestant have to take the top two positions who which was a couple at the beginning of the live show competition. No special appearance or music artists or special dance performers appeared on this season except for all-stars who were former contestants.

The Winner of the Season were Two Finalist crowned as the America's Reality Dance Competition Show named as Amy Yakima and Du-Shaunt 'Fik-Shun' Stegall.

Season 11
During the season 10 finale telecast,On September 10, 2013 Lythgoe the Permanent judge in the show announced that So You Think You Can Dance was renewed again for an eleventh season which will be premiered on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. The season's finale was air on Wednesday 3 September, 2014.

Season 12
The season 120 was confirmed in November 2014 by an announcement from the Fox that also revealed the significant changes in the show's format, including the plans to divide the contestants in to two equally sized teams. The auditions for season 12 started on 24 January, 2015, and taken place in five major American cities. Season 12 was premiere on Monday, 1st June.
