Let's just talk about the ants. When ant meet always (you saw in your crack wall sometimes for sure), they seems like they are talking to each other. But the truth is they are going to the same path where chemical path is there.
The chemical path is where the ant expose it to their body to give signal to the other ants in the way for food and went back for their nest. There are lots of them, they are very small and it affects other animal if all of them will disappear. I enjoy when i see the colony of ants helping each other to lift the food or seeing them like a moving line .They are just symbol of hardwork if you think. So its just okay for me that there are ants to eat my leftover food.
