Just a little blog here, to talk about my rediscovery of hi8 cameras!

Nowdays, everyone seems to have a DSLR camera to film big events on. You see dads lying on the floor to "Get a good shot", fiddling with settings, changing lenses, playing with focus etc etc etc.

The files get uploaded onto the computer, and left there until the computer crashes, or until someone remembers they better put them onto a harddrive because the computer is on its last legs.

People seem to have forgotten the charm of tape....! I had... until very recently!!!

Myself and Amy have decided to blog our lifes and progress of FourFingers on a retro video camera! The fantastic little 'cuts' where you stop the tape and start recording again just can't be recreated on a 5D. Similarly, the urge to crash zoom or turn the camera upside down never really has the same effect. 5D's make you want to make it pretty... handycams bring out your inner child...

In a years time on 5th November 2013 we're going to review our entire tape and see how much has changed!

We can't wait!

Get out your old handy cam and make some home videos, you can't beat tape... not for having a good time anyway :)
