The City OF Haripur

Haripur is a both city and district of Hazara division of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan, situated at a distance of 65 KM in the north Islamabad ()capital of the country) and 35 Km south of Abbottabad on Shahrah-e-Hazara. Geographic location has given great significant to the importance of Haripur i.e, a gateway to the Punjab from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province as well as to the beautiful touristic destination of northern Areas of the country. History of the Haripur reveals that the town of Haripur was founded by Hari Singh Nalwa the commander in Chief of Ranjit singh’s Army in 1822.Haripur has its own history. Haripur has very beautiful places in it. It has a Turbela lake; Turbela lake is famous for the fishing and visiting.

In summer to many people daily visit it and enjoyed a lot. People of that particular area do crops for their own benefits and also they export their crops to other city and make money.  According to he 2005 estimate the population of the District Haripur was 803,000. Hindko and Urdu are the predominant languages of the city; however Pashto language is also spoken by the Pashton and afghan communities of the area District Haripur is well known for its literacy rate (63%) which is substantially higher than the average in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.God has blessed Haripur with patriotic and hardworking people in the field of religion, politics, sports, poetry and military as well.
