This beast of an animal is a Newfoundland dog. The males can get up to 260 lbs.

...I want one!

The one in the photo was my neighbor's dog [and me]. We had an arrangement. I use to break into his breeze way to play with the dog while he was at work and he didn't have me arrested for it.

It was a beautiful working relationship that way.

His name was Leif. My neighbor has since moved and taken Leif with him. I miss him.

He's only the second Newfoundland I've seen in person, in my entire life. They're an impressive animal.

...and I really want one.

If only they didn't cost the same as a used car...
