Chapter 4

           At the palace - all are busy in different kinds of chores. People come and go and Carla becomes dizzy watching all of them moving just like ants. "Why they are busy? Is there a party to be held here?" Asked Carla almost in a whisper. "Oh dear, did you forget your birth day? You are turning 18 in a few days. All of them are busy for the preparation because your father will introduce you to the society" said the handsome man on her back. "Oh it's you again, It's becoming a habit for you to startle me. I'm alone then suddenly you will come out of nowhere. Where are you hiding?" asked Carla. "Ha ha you are really funny, actually it is you who is always out of her mind that's is why you haven't noticed me every time I come near to you" the man said. Ah I see... by the way who are you? Carla asked. The man made a sad face. "You didn't know me? I'm just the man you are going to marry after you turned 18 years old that is why I'm always on guard. I don't want anybody to ruin the plan. I'm Alexis by the way your majesty" the man said then kiss the back of Carla's hand.

    " What! Why am I going to marry you? I'm still studying and I still want to enjoy my single life." It's Carla. "Ohhh I think you are really out of your mind dear. We have no queen because she died recently and since you are the only heir they have to train you now. The first step for you to be a queen is to marry. Once you get married you will be mature and responsible. You have to start the training in your own family. If you can't take care of your own family how can you take care of the kingdom?" Is it clear to you now your majesty?" asked Alexis.

"I don't know what to think right now. I think I'm really lost so will you please leave me alone, my head is aching so I need to rest, please...." Carla begged. "It's alright take a rest and don't forget our royal dance, don't step on my feet" Alexis made a wide grin after he left Carla. "Ohh.. that man is so annoying but in fairness he is the cutest guy I've ever met, hi hi" Carla laughed silently. 

           A man in his late 50's came to Carla. "Are you preparing you self for your upcoming debut?" asked the old man. Carla couldn't say anything, she is tongue tied. She just nod to the old man. " You got your mother's eyes only but all your features came from me. I'm really glad that your mother raised you well. If only I could turned back time, I will not exchange my family to my duties" the old man said sadly. "Just make your self comfortable here and soon you will got used to it.

         The old man left a deep thought to Carla. What does he mean? He seemed have regrets in choosing his duties above his family. I think I'm going to get sick now. Carla felt dizzy so she go to her room and have some sleep.

           Hu hu hu... Carla heard a woman crying she can't opened her eyes easily because she was dizzy after her encounter with her father. She opened her eyes slowly and all she can see are all white. Where am I? asked Carla. "Oh God thanks you are awake now, you had a high fever last night and you are delirious so I brought you in the hospital" it's her mother. 

        "I'm just dreaming last night with my father. They are preparing for my upcoming debut there. He looks like a king in the Palace and he said something that made me curious. He said that I got your eyes mom and he regretted choosing his duties above his family.It is us mom he's pertaining to. What did you know about my father mom?" Carla asked. Her mother stared at her for a short while, "What I said to you before is all I knew about him. He seemed so mysterious".

        Carla didn't ask anymore, seems her mother didn't really know much about her father. Soon I will discover your mystery. Carla said to her self.
