There are always predictions of the 'end of the world,' although when people say that, they actually mean the end of humanity, or the end of life as we know it. It won't be the end of the world itself.

However we know when the end of the world will happen - approximately 5 billion years from now. How do we know? That's when our sun will begin to die. As our sun uses up all it's fuel, it will expand and eventually burn our planet to a crisp.

In fact, as the sun gets older, it continues to get bigger, and brighter.

Another interesting fact is that 20% of all Global Warming currently is due to our sun, and it will only get worse over time. However, we still have several billion years before it gets too hot to live on Earth. Hopefully by then, we'll have found a new planet to live on.
