On November 19th 1863, US President Abraham Lincoln, made what would become known as the Gettysburg Address.
The speech was made during the American Civil War in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, at the dedication of the Soldiers' National Cemetery. The Battle of Gettysburg itself took place four and a half months prior.
Although the speech is today one of the most famous in American history, its exact wording and even location where it was said are disputed, as there are multiple copies. The iconic starting phrase "Four score and seven years ago" is probably accurate, though.
