I watched a movie called The Giver last night. Have you seen it?

The Giver stars Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges and Brenton Thwaites. It was released on 15th August 2014.

The Giver is an unusual story about a boy called Jonas (played by Brenton Thwaites), who has been chosen to receive the truth about the past from the Giver (played by Jeff Bridges). Jonas lives in a world where love, fear and feeling have been taken away from everyone by taking medication once a day as a routine part of life. Everyone sees the world as black and white, because color cannot be seen once the medication is inside of them. The medication is supposed to safe guard everyone from the fears of emotion and life.

Jonas is told of his new assignment and has to stop taking his medication in order to be able to feel it. Jonas is sent to spend time with the sole keeper of memories after he has graduated, because it is time to give these memories to Jonas. He starts to see things in a different light. The more Jonas learns about the past and the memories, the more he wants everyone to feel what he is going through. The more he learns, the more he realizes that he is in danger along with everyone around him.

The movie is a futuristic scifi thriller with dramatic events throughout it. I enjoyed watching it. It was an entertaining movie, but a weird one at times.
