ü The poet was born on July 13 1953 in the Vadugapatti (village) at Theni district.

ü He was inspired by the speech of Periyar, Anna, and Bharathiyar, Bharathidhasan shaping him as a young poet.

ü At the age of nineteen he published his maiden anthology “VAIGARI MEGANGAL”. It was prescribed for study in women’s Christian college.

ü He wrote his first song in the year of 1980 for the film of SOOLAM.

ü He got the NATIONAL FILM AWARD six times for best lyricist.

ü He got “PADMASHRI” in the year of 2003 & “PADMABUSHAN” in the year of 2014

ü He has two sons their names are  MADHANKARKI VAIRAMUTHU & KABILAN VAIRAMUTHU .

ü He wrote some of the novels and books also.

ü The novels is “KALIKATTU IDIGASAM” & book is “SIRPIYE UNNAI SEDHUKIRAEN”

ü And he is writing “KARUVACHI KAVIYAM” it is publishing in  story book “VIKATAN”

ü And of course he had written his autobiography “IDHUVARAI NAN” in the age of 28.
