I had this idea a few months back, about being in a helicopter. Not an actual helicopter, but a miniature toy helicopter.

The whole premise of this short was to shrink ourselves down and be put into this helicopter. With a simple plot, get to a certain destination, with hefty special-effects. It would involve a lot of green screen for both the helicopter and the talent.

 

Most helicopter shots are not green screen but some are. I had to remake the interior of the helicopter in Photoshop and Aftereffects.

 

With frame by frame tracking and green screening the outcome this video was very good. Also using some wrap effects and lighting to put a unique look on some of the shots.

 

After a one day shot and a weeks worth of editing ‘The Helicopter Heist’ is now available on and Film Annex.
