The Kindness Flash #06 This month’s theme: THOUGHTFULNESS – to show concern for the needs and feelings of others. Everyday Kindness: Kindness Refueled Filling up our gas tank is something that many can occasionally forget and can potentially leave us stranded at the most inconvenient times. Nowadays, it’s not uncommon to hear stories of extreme thoughtfulness and compassion from teachers spending large sums of their own money to buy supplies for their students. In San Antonio, Lester Brown noticed the woman in front of him in line at Walmart purchasing a lot of school supplies, but she had no kids with her. Sabrina Drude, was a teacher and shared that she teaches in a low socioeconomic area and would rather her students not have to worry about supplies and rather focus on learning. Kindness Quote “Nothing in life means anything unless someone cares, and the whole trick is to keep being that someone.” ~ Robert Brault Act of Kindness Do you walk by someone who is down on their luck on your way to work or school everyday and simply pass them by? This month, spark up a conversation. Giving of your time and truly seeing people is oftentimes more meaningful than dropping someone spare change. Remember, being thoughtful is all about reminding people that they still matter, that someone still cares. Question of the Month Everyday we’re faced with choices like holding the door for the person a few steps behind us, giving a compliment to the cashier who’s having a bad day, or listening to what a friend has to say. When have you made the conscious choice to be a bit more thoughtful in your interaction with someone? Share your experience and how that choice impacted you in the comments.
