This has been on the table for awhile now, but WWE may pull something out. Kalisto is the current United States champion and doing well as a singles wrestler; Sin Cara has been lost in the shuffle after his injury. Now, it looks like the Lucha Dragons is going to split, and it could result in one of the members turning heel. Kalisto will be wrestling at WrestleMania 32 against Ryback, as he will defend his United States title. Meanwhile, Sin Cara is not on the card, even though he could be in the 3rd Annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
The Lucha Dragons are about to make their one-year anniversary of moving up to the main roster from NXT, and they're one of the most popular tag teams on the main roster. While Kalisto has done well as a singles wrestler, some people believe if both wrestlers will have great singles run. Back in 2015, WWE was not planning on pushing Kalisto due to him being a smaller wrestler. However, he is popular with the WWE Universe and WWE Management had a change of mind. Sin Cara has never been popular as a singles competitor.
The Lucha Dragons almost won the WWE Tag Team titles in 2015, but never really got the chance. Still, the fans love watching them perform in the ring. In 2016, Kalisto is having a great run as United States Champion, and a win over Ryback at WrestleMania 32 would make him into a big player. If the Lucha Dragons are going to break up, it’s likely going to happen after WrestleMania 32. The first hint of a breakup is that Sin Cara wore all black, which means he could be turning heel, but will he have success as a singles wrestler?
