The Master of Movement Dominique Palombo is one of my favorite artists that I've been exposed to in the genre of fashion and dance film. Dominique has a unique gift in his ability to combine his talents as a director, a DP, a master editor, and sound mixer with his innate and intuitive feel for dance to compose his unrivaled work.
My first exposure to Dominique was through his film 'MOVE' for the Rachel Roy Spring 2011 collection. It is a spectacular combination of dance choreography from Jermaine Browne, Rachel's gorgeous collection that is put to the test from the cast of professional dancers, and Dominique's magic behind the camera and in post production. The film was awarded the Best Picture and Best Music awards at the 2011 La Jolla Fashion Film Festival.
I would like to say that I coined the title, Master of Movement, but Joe Lombardo, a panelist at the 2012 LJFFF and Dominique's agent based here in NYC whom I had the pleasure of speaking to introduced me to the term and it fits perfectly for the content he creates. Dominique for me embodies the concept of Master of Movement in fashion film and I'd like you to view some of my favorite pieces including 'B Untamed', 'Subterra', and the 2012 LJFFF submission 'N'Arrete Pas!' to see if you would concur.
