The BBC has learned that Whishaw will be playing the role of Q in Skyfall. A character that wasn't featured in either previous Craig film, which includes Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, in the James Bond universe he is known for equipping 007 with the latest and greatest technology to fight evil. Previously the character was played by Desmond Llewelyn and John Cleese, however, at the age of 31 Whishaw will easily be the youngest actor to play the role. This means that he will be younger than even Bond himself, as Daniel Craig is now 43. Directed by Sam Mendes, Skyfall is currently in production and is scheduled to be released on November 9, 2012.
