The Power-Hungry Generation

Posted on at

My sister, &abrowergal , fiance, &dallinpd468 , and I went to the library so we could have quiet and wifi and get be productive on our school work/honors papers/thesis. We found a little table with 4 chairs and set up shop before we realized we only had 2 outlets available to us.

Times are changing. Study room capacity is no longer dependent on the number of chairs at the table, but by the number of outlets. We're actively employing 3 laptops, 2 smart phones and an Ipad between the four of us. We looked for a better set up to no avail, so we're rotating the use of the outlets.

University administrators and City councilmen, as you redesign and update libraries, double the number of outlets available to patrons. Your users thank you. In the meantime, we need to put a power strip in one of the backpacks next time we go to the library!
