To be honest, setting up your own VA shop or business is very easy, but becoming successful isn’t EASY AT ALL!! With no apology to anyone, it is not EASY!

It is not easy finding a client even after positioning yourself in a way you can attract the client. Then comes client management, client communication, establishing a relationship and keeping thus status, makes virtual assisting a difficult career to pursue.
Moreover, if you can’t deliver your works, you can’t manage the clients, they turn to another who can. Sorry reality is harsh, if you can’t cut it, you will just fall-off is that simple!

Although even without the client choosing a particular day, a good virtual assistant knows the importance of communicating work progress and does it. It is for the satisfaction of the client. Decide a method of contacting your client with relevant information at the end of the day. Email the client, chat them up on Facebook, Twitter, Telegram or even Whatsapp. A good relationship is established by communicating with the clients.

Finding the right-reliable virtual assistant is a huge problem in the industry. This is a common problem in the industry and it’s depicting a bad name for the business.

Generally, you are supposed to assist in any way possible to the needs and wants of your client(s). There’s no shame in telling your client you have never done such a work before, but you will be happy to find out how it is done.

A virtual assistant always undergoes some difficulties in rendering assistant and getting paid. Knowing these, the calibre of a good VA is to know the following
You will need to motivate yourself every day to get paid.
You will need to market yourself from day 1 of setting up shop till forever.
Your clients may sometimes not be happy with your work, well it happens to, get over it.
If you do not do the job right or you really messed-up, get it fixed, apologies if you must and don’t charge for it!
On a final note, sometimes it does not and cannot work with some clients based on demands or unrealistic job description, when this happens, fire the client.

As a virtual assistant, it is paramount to know, you can’t have all the qualities every VA needs for effectiveness so you can make a living from it, but you need to seriously consider doing something about yourself to improve on your qualities.
