The Rambert Dance Company is a leading ballet company based in London which specializes in performing modern ballets, and often tours abroad. It was founded in London in 1930 by the ballet dancer and teacher Marie Rambert. The Ballet Rambert is roughly the contemporary of the Royal Ballet, but, because it has remained a small company, it has always reflected the dedication of its founder, the late Dame Marie Rambert, to the cause of experiment, it has always remained youthful and vibrant. Like many of the country’s smaller companies, it is always on the move, and visitors to Britain are as likely to catch it performing in a small town as they are to see it in London.
