As I m the student of chemistry and I was thinking to post something related to the world of the chemistry from last week because one of my teacher asked me to write something related to my field of the chemistry, so in this respect the most irritating thing which I observed mostly is the products of the cosmetics. Many people think that cosmetics product will polish their personality and their importance in the society will be increase due to these products but they don’t know that they are buying poison for their life from their earnings.
Today the industry of the cosmetics is worth about 20 billion in the world, they are manufacturing different products like shampoo, toothpaste, different lotions, sunscreen and deodorant and many more. According to the report of a chemical safe skincare in 2006 the women’s are using about 12 toiletries per day. The chemicals used by the woman’s are 60% absorbed in their body and according to research about 5 pound chemical are absorbed by every women.
If we think this matter according to the field of medical science then these cosmetic products are the main cause of the cancer. Then question rises in my mind why these products are allowed to sell? And in the U.S these products are SELF regulated by the industry and the supported organization is known as Cosmetic Ingredient Review board (CIRB).
All those chemicals which are used in the cosmetics are harmful to the body but the most harmful chemicals according to my knowledge are: triethanolamine , diethanolamine diazolidnyl urea, imidazolidinyl urea, parabens, laureth sulfate, petrolatum, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium, stearalkonium chloride, , PVP/VA copolymer propylene glycol, synthetic colors and synthetic fragrances. All these chemicals are toxic but sodium lauryl sulfate is the most one.
Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), a foaming agent and it is used as the leading ingredient in different soaps, conditioners, toothpastes and shampoos and is most often absorbed through the skin in the body. It is used to studies to cause skin irritation in order to identify properties of many other chemicals. Many cancers, especially breast and ovarian, are caused by those chemicals which are the back bone of the cosmetics industry. The SLS causes the skin cancer mostly as it is absorbed in the body very sharply.
After the publishing of this blog I don’t think my these few sentences about the cosmetics will take some special position before those people who use the cosmetics because they think that these products have no side effect and these all are good for them. But I hope some people will take my blog seriously and they will think about it.
