In this day and age, the wait of a standard check up at the doctor's office is obscene. I would hate to see if something was truly wrong with us.
If you want to point out the number one reason why people avoid the doctor, for whatever reason right or wrong, other than costs and fear that something might be wrong with them, the wait time is the biggest reason. When people are waiting two or three hours past their appointment time to see the doctor, that's just absurd.
And those are people who have some pretty early appointments.
I feel bad for a lot of doctors who are dedicated to their craft, and a lot of doctors who are at the mercy of being overworked. There are numerous doctors who retired rather than deal with the new healthcare regulations and those who stuck it out are dealing with a lot of balls to juggle.
And people are getting more angry at the weight at the doctor's office and can you really blame them? It's an entire day down the tubes, even if it's just a check up to clarify that you're fine.
