Marble is a metamorphic rock formed when limestone is subjected to heat and pressure. Large deposits hundreds of feet thick can cover a very wide area.

Italian artist and film maker Yuri Anacarani spent nearly a year at the Monte Bettolgi quarry in the Apuan Alps of Northwest Italy to produce his film II Capo (The Chief ).

The quarry boss conducts his men and machinery through the process like a maestro conducting an orchestra.
