Have you been bothered by your big and fat body now? Well, most girls are guilty on this. Majority of people are concerned with their body because it’s not appealing to others’ eyes. But we often neglect the most important thing, our health.
A public awareness video was uploaded by Your Nutrition Spot in YouTube to enlighten people about the growing obesity in the United States and the world.
This video by Strong4Life is a campaign started by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
The video focused on the point that obesity doesn’t happen overnight, instead it is a lifetime worth of bad habits, bad choices and bad nutrition.
In the start of the clip, an obese man who is breathing heavily and will seemingly lose his consciousness is rushed to the emergency. The doctor asks the nurse about the man’s condition. Based from the nurse gathered data, the man suffered from heart attack at the age of 32 years old.
Then follows the rewind of his life from his married life up to his baby life showing what he often do, eat and drink. The man frequently eats unhealthy food like sodas and junk food. He also rarely exercises and diagnosed of diabetes. In his childhood days, he is hiding junk food in his drawer. Since his childhood, he already appeared to be fat and having difficulty in breathing and moving. However, he still continues to eat unhealthy food and not exercise. And when his a baby, her mother feed him with French fries and other junk foods to stop his tantrums.
Then the tagline shows “Your child’s future doesn’t have to look like this,” while showing the man suffered from heart attack in the emergency room.
“There’s still time to reverse the unhealthy habits our kids take into adulthood.”
In this modern day full of instant, ready-to-eat and highly processed food, we often neglect our health. We sometimes resort to tasty and delicious food without considering the things we could get from those. We also forget to educate ourselves with good nutrition and healthy body.
We have to remember that everything will start from our home. If we let our children eat whatever they want to eat and doesn’t teach them the importance of living healthy, then time will come that it will become their habit and the worst, they might pass it on their children.
This video doesn’t promote any product to be avoided, but it is to promote free though about getting healthy. There’s still time to change all the bad habits and bad nutrition by making better choices.
