As of Thursday morning, 17 have been confirmed killed, including 9‪#‎firefighters‬, and nearly 400 injured with 32 remaining in critical condition after the two massive explosions that took place around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday at a local port where dangerous chemical goods are stored.

“In the beginning there was no explosion,” said a firefighter to The Beijing News, a Chinese newspaper, “they (firefighters) all went to respond to the fire, and then the blast happened.”

Communication still hasn’t been reestablished with 36 firefighters that are still thought to be near the explosion site and in unknown condition, the local firefighting agency reports.
