This all-natural, DIY insect repellent is great for mosquitoes, flies, bees, and other flying bugs—and it’s much cheaper than citronella candles. Just mix a spoonful of water with several drops of citronella essential oil, then sprinkle it over a cloth or rag (bonus points if it’s a pretty color!). Place the rag in a Mason jar, and keep it sealed on your patio until you’re ready to use it. When you open the jar, it will emit a scent that’s pleasant to humans, but unpleasant to bugs! (You can also use eucalyptus, peppermint, and/or lemongrass essential oils instead.)
