Daffodils are one of the most beautiful signs of spring, but did you know that they can be toxic to other flowers? When a daffodil stem is cut, it releases a certain kind of sap into the vase's water that can clog the stems of the flowers around it, causing them to not get enough water. If you're making a spring bouquet, make sure not to include daffodils with non-daffodils, which may wilt prematurely. Or, cut the daffodil stems ahead of time and let them sit in water alone for a day before adding them to the vase with the rest of the flowers.
