On 29 April 1980, the renowned English film director and producer, Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock died. Hitchcock was known as "The Master of Suspense" and was famous for his suspense and Psychological thriller films. He had the rare distinction of working both in silent era and early talkies of English cinema. Later he moved to Hollywood and had also a successful career. On this day in 1980, Hitchcock passed away at age 80 in his Bel Air home in California, US on account of a renal failure.
