Teachers' Day is celebrated across the globe for the appreciation of the teachers. But the date on which Teachers' Day is celebrated varies from country to country. In India, since 1962, Teachers' Day is celebrated on the birthday of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, second President of India. This Day in India is dedicated to honour the teachers for their contributions in making the students fit for shouldering their responsibilities as future citizens of the country; some teachers are every year honoured for their special contributions in any particular field area, or the community in general.
Today-it is Teachers' Day in India.
