Today is the 119th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose who initiated the organized armed struggle for India's independence from the British Empire, seeking the help of Germany and Japan during the World War II. But he failed as Germany and Japan were defeated in the war. A report claimed that he was killed in a plane crash on August 18, 1945. But his death is still controversial and most of the countrymen never believed it. Though Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru have garnered much of the credit for successful culmination of Indian freedom struggle, the contribution of Subash Chandra Bose is no less. He has been denied his rightful place in the annals of Indian history. But still he is a symbol of patriotism to the true patriots.
Today- it is the 119th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the great Indian nationalist.
