Rajiv Gandhi who served as Prime Minister from 1984 to 1989 and was assassinated by the LTTE on May 21, 1991 at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu during election campaign was born on August 20, 1944. So, it today it was his 71st birth anniversary. On this auspicious day, the former Prime Minister was remembered by the whole nation.  President Pranab Mukherjee and other leaders paid tributes to him.
