Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose, a legendary multi-talented Indian scientist was born on November 30, 1858 at Mymensingh in Bengal Presidency of India, which is now in Bangladesh. He was educated first at the village school in Faridpur, where his father was a magistrate. Later he was admitted into St. Xavier's College in Calcutta for undergraduate studies where he met Father Eugene Lafont, who played a significant role in developing Bose’s interest in the natural sciences. He received a B.A. in Science from the University of Calcutta in 1880. In 1895, J.C. Bose made a public demonstration, in presence of the Lt. Governor of Bengal, of wireless radio. But his documents were stolen by Guglielmo Marconi, who made a demonstration in 1897 and was awarded a Nobel Prize. However, scientists around the world now acknowledge him as the true pioneer. His invention, crescograph helped scientists better understand about cultivation of crops in an effective way.
Today- it is the birth day of Jagdish Chandra Bose.
