October 2 has a special significance not only to the Indians but also to people across the whole world because on this day in 1869 was born Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, popularly known as Mahatma Gandhi who inspired the whole nation to fight against the British for freedom and his only weapon was ‘non-violence’. But we are very unfortunate that the worshipper of ‘non-violence’ was finally a victim to ‘violence’ after India gained independence in 1947 from the British rule when he was assassinated on 30 January 1948 by shooting. It is a shame to the whole nation.
Today- it is the birth day of Mahatma Gandhi.
