On August 14, Pakistan had achieved independence from the British rule in 1947. So, today is the Independence Day of Pakistan.  Previously the country was included in undivided India. When the British were compelled to leave India, they divided India on the basis of ‘Two Nation Theory’ and Pakistan was separated out from India. Initially Pakistan had two parts commonly referred to as East and West Pakistan. But unfortunately, in 1971 East Pakistan parted from West Pakistan and became Bangladesh. However, the Day is celebrated throughout the country in a colourful way by organizing different events; the Day is an occasion to promote patriotism and national unity in Pakistan.
