The hippocampus which is located in the medial temporal lobe of the brain plays a major role in memory formation and spatial navigation. It has been observed by a group of researchers at the University of Montreal in Canada that people who spend too much time playing video games may have reduced hippocampal integrity and are thus may become victims of neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease.
