5. MAURITIUS
Mauritius, with the population of only 1.3 million, is by far the most cleanest country in Sub-Saharan Africa. With EPI score of 80.6, Mauritius also finds itself on the top 10 list of the cleanest countries in the world. The low population and the clean environment has allowed Mauritius to remain environmental friendly. This cleanliness, along with the beautiful marine landscapes, has made Mauritius a tourist paradise.
6. COSTA RICA
Costa Rica is a developing country and you would be surprised to see it in the cleanest countries list. But Costa Rica is blessed with a great terrain. Dense forests, ample wildlife and clean water allows Costa Rica to be very environmental friendly and clean. The EPI score of Costa Rica is 86.4 which is very good. Costa Rica is deservedly in the top 10 cleanest countries.
7. FRANCE
Neck to neck with Austria is France, which has EPI score of 78.2. The population of France is 62 million but this doesn’t adversely affect the clean environment of France. The reason why France is among the cleanest countries in the world is because of the high rank of air and water quality and fisheries management. This allows the country to be clean and environmental friendly.
8. AUSTRIA
Austria is also one of the cleanest countries. It is a landlocked country which helps it to remain clean and safe from oceanic waste. The EPI score of Austria is 78.1 which is excellent and shows how clean the country is. Austria is definitely an environmental friendly country.
9. CUBA
Surprisingly, Cuba makes the list of the cleanest countries of the world. Even though Cuba isn’t developed, the public health figures are very good. This cleanliness factor allows Cuba to be among the cleanest countries in the world.
10. SINGAPORE
To start off the the cleanest countries list, we have Singapore. Singapore has really risen in the past couple of decades and is now of the cleanest and safest countries to live in. The crime rate of this safe country is also low. Apart from being one of the safest countries, Singapore is also on the list of the safest countries in the world.
