Hello Friends, Today I am here with my new blog with the title of "Top Field Hockey playing Nations". Friends, Field Hockey is an international game and usually is the part of many international mega events like World Olympics etc. Field Hockey is an old game and it started in Middle Ages in England, Scotland, France and the Netherlands. In this game of Field Hockey, two teams participate each consisting of 11 players including a goalkeeper. The game is played on grass, turf or synthetic field both indoor and outdoor. Some popular Field Hockey playing nations are Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, England, India, Pakistan, the Netherlands, Germany, Canada and Malaysia etc. Let's discuss few top Field Hockey playing nations. The matters related to Field Hockey are supervised by an International Governing Body known as International Hockey Federation.

✸ Australia

The Australian Field Hockey Teams (Men and Women) are considered to be one of the best Hockey teams in the world. Australian Hockey team is the only team in any sport to receive medals at the last six Summer Olympic Games. The Australian Hockey team usually manage to reach within top 5 positions in any International Hockey events such as Olympics and Hockey World Cup. Australian Men Hockey team has won the Hockey World Cups in 1986, 2010 and 2014. Australians Hockey Team made its first appearance in an International Sports event in 1922. Starting from 1983, when they won their first major International Tournament which was World Championships, the Australian Hockey Team has never looked back and has been performing superbly.

The Argentina Field Hockey Teams (Men and Women) are also considered to be one of the best Hockey teams in the world. The matters related to Argentina Hockey are supervised by Argentine Hockey Confederation (CAH). The Argentina Men Hockey Team is currently placed on the second position in the FIH World Rankings. Argentina is the only team from the South America to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games when they defeated Belgium in the final at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Argentina has appeared in almost every Hockey World Cup since 1973. Argentina Field Hockey Team managed to reach the bronze medal at the 2014 World Cup in The Hague. They have also managed to win bronze medal at the 2008 Hockey Champions Trophy.

The Netherlands National Men's Field Hockey Team is one of the most successful teams in the world which have won the Summer Olympics two times. They have won the Hockey World Cup three times and also the Hockey Champions Trophy eight times. The matters related to The Netherlands Hockey are supervised by Dutch Hockey Confederation. Their current Hockey Coach for the Men Hockey team is Maximiliano Caldas who also was a great Netherlands Hockey player. The current Captain of the Netherlands Men Hockey team is Billy Bakker.

They have won the Hockey World Cup two times and also the Hockey Champions Trophy nine times. The matters related to German Hockey are supervised by Deutscher Hockey-Bund. Their current Hockey Coach for the Men Hockey team is Stefan Kermas who was also a great German Hockey player. The current Captain of German Men Hockey team is Martin Häner. Teh German Men's Hockey team has also won the EuroHockey Nations Championship nine times.

The Pakistani Field Hockey Team especially Men Hockey Team is considered to be among the the top Hockey teams in the world. The Pakistani Hockey is administered by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) which is the governing body for hockey in Pakistan. Pakistani Hockey team has been a member of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) since 1948. Pakistani Hockey team is the most successful national field hockey team in the Hockey World Cup winning four championships in 1971, 1978, 1982 and 1994. Field hockey is the national sport of Pakistan and its Men's Hockey team has been ranked as the number one many times. One Pakistani Hockey Player, Sohail Abbas holds the world record for the most international goals scored by a player in the history of international field hockey.
