This morning at about 5.20 am, 15 coaches of the Sealdah-Ajmer Express of the Indian Railways got derailed near Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. As a result, over 40 people were injured out of whom eight of the passengers were brought out of the wrecked coaches and are believed to be in a critical state. The cause is not known yet. As per available reports, a medical relief train from Kanpur has been sent to the accident site. A thorough investigation has been ordered by the department of Indian Railways to ascertain the cause.
