Social networks like Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, etc., have the official app for different devices and very few third party add-ons are available for them, but Twitter is an exception in that case. Apart the official app, it has plenty of third party add-ons available to add more features and functions. There are plenty of simple and efficient Twitter desktop clients available online. Instead of logging in to your web account everytime, you can see your Twitter timeline, receive all your notifications, and lets you respond to all the messages from your desktop. Previously, I wrote about Instagram Saver, which lets you save the entire photos and videos of any user on Instagram. Today I’ve come with a new Twitter client called “Tweetz Desktop” for Windows, which brings your Twitter timeline in a clutter free environment. Here’s how it works.
Tweetz Desktop is a free application for Windows. You can download it using the link at the end of this post. It is a very simple application and the installation is pretty quick. Once you complete the registration process and connect your Twitter account, it will generate a code to activate the application. Copy that code and paste it in the text box on the homepage as shown in the screenshot above. After you activate the app, you will be redirected to the homepage. Similar to Twitter’s web interface, you will have a timeline, direct messages, mentions, favorites, etc., on the top menu bar.
The application window can be easily resized as you need and the content will be automatically adjusted to fit into it. People who use large displays, can use this app as a vertical sidebar to see tweets in real time. All the tweets which contain images, will have a preview by default. In the menu bar, you can easily navigate between your timeline, mentions, favorites and direct messages. Twitter search is also available in the same menu bar. To compose a new tweet, click the pen shaped icon at the last, it will open the compose window without leaving the current window.
Settings of the application will have the basic options like changing font size, themes, spell check, etc.. The interface is pretty simple and any one can easily understand. It is one of the lightest weight Twitter client apps available for Window PC.
