Two passengers of an auto-rickshaw were killed and its driver injured when a passenger bus hit the vehicle in the city’s Kakrail crossing early Thursday.

The deceased are Asif, 25, and Rubel 28. The injured driver was known as Firoz.

Police sources said the incident took place when a bus of Econo Paribahan hit the CNG-run auto-rickshaw near Kakrail crossing at around 3:45am.

Being informed, a team of Ramna thana police went to the spot and rushed them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where on-duty doctors pronounced them dead at around 3:40am, said Inspector Muzammel, in-charge of DMCH police camp.

The bodies were kept in the morgue of the hospital for post mortem.
