- Aluminum Conductor Alloy Reinforced:-
- Aluminum conductor alloy reinforced has a central core of alloy of aluminum surrounded by layers of conductor aluminum.
- With the same electrical capacity aluminum conductor alloy reinforced has a smaller size and lesser weight as compared to aluminum conductor steel reinforced.
- Alumo Weld Conductor:-
- Aluminum powder is welded on to a high strength steel wire. About 75% of area of conductor is covered by aluminum.
- It is more costly than steel core aluminum conductor.
- Phosphor Bronze Conductor:-
- Phosphor bronze is used as a conductor material for very long spans such as river crossings.
- It is more strong than copper conductor but has got low conductivity.
- Galvanized Steel Conductor:-
- Galvanized steel conductors are used where high strength is desired.
- They are used on very long spans and particularly in rural area where the load is small.
- Being a magnetic material a galvanized steel conductor has large resistance , inductance and voltage drop. It has a comparatively shorter life.
