According to Bouncer Chronicles the rumors of the UFC being up for sale have been true. The mixed martial arts company was sold for an estimated $4 billion by a group of investors led by WWE-IMG. The companies are expected to make a formal announcement later this week.
The UFC has been controlled by CEO Lorenzo Fertitta and President Dana White since being acquired by Zuffa, LLC in January of 2001. The WWE-IMG group reportedly included Silver Lake Capital, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and private equity pool controlled by computer billionaire Michael Dell.
Dana White is expected to stay on as UFC President.
