‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 7 Nina Dobrev Regrets Leaving Show? Julie Plec Teases Return
Rumors abound of possible comeback of Nina Dobrev for ‘Vampire Diaries’ season 7. Even the show’s creator expressed optimism over the possibility. In an interview with Variety, Julie Plec said she was all for it.
Plec acknowledged, “Yes, I miss her deeply, and would take her back in an instant if she called and said, ‘Hey, can I come back and play?'”
However, the chances of a comeback may not be in the show’s future. According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Nina is still upset with her ex, Ian Somerhalder. As a result, she now regrets her time with the TV series that boosted her career.
An insider close to the actress revealed, “Nina has tried to stay strong watching Ian and Nikki flaunt their relationship in her face, then witnessed them rush to the altar. And now she’s at the point of regretting her time on ‘The Vampire Diaries’ completely. Nina knows that if she had never done the show, she wouldn’t have fallen in love with Ian in the first place.”
The two dated while working on “The Vampire Diaries” but broke up in 2013. The following year, the two stars even joked about their past relationship, as noted on E! News.
After their split, Somerhalder began dating Nikki Reed from the TV show, “Sleepy Hollow.” The pair got married in 2015. There were speculations that this was the reason why Dobrev quit the show.
For “Vampire Diaries” season 7, a crossover episode brings the “The Originals” story into the fray.
Plec, who is the executive producer for both shows on The CW, revealed more about it in a recent interview with TV Line.
Plec recapped, “Stefan’s now with Caroline, and Klaus, of course, has just gone through everything he’s gone through with Cami, they actually have a surprisingly civil and honest conversation about love — what it means and the sacrifices that you have to make in the name of it.”
