Veteran Bollywood actor Om Prakesh Puri popularly known as Om Puri who was one of India’s most critically acclaimed actors and had starred in films apart from Indian films across Hollywood, Pakistan and the UK died in Mumbai. The 66-year-old was found dead at his home on Friday morning, reportedly after suffering a heart attack. He was born in the northern state of Haryana and had made his film debut in the 1976 film Ghashiram Kotwal. Earlier he studied at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune and later in the National School of Drama in Delhi. He had been awarded Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award of India and won two National Film Awards in 1981 and in 1983.
