On December 16, 1971, the Pakistani Armed Forces with their 93,000 soldiers surrendered before the Indian Army during the Bangladesh Liberation War. The surrender took place when Lieutenant-General AAK Niazi, Martial Law Administrator of West Pakistan, surrendered to Lieutenant General Jagjit Singh Aurora, Joint Commander of the Bangladesh-India Allied Forces at the Ramna Race Course in Dhaka. So, yesterday on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the surrender, there was a grand celebration of the day by Indian Army.
