VÉLO

Hi All,

Just an update on my next film incase anyone was wondering what project was coming up. The brief was to create a non-fiction film, originally i had chosen the subject skateboarding, its something i am passionate about and something which i watch a lot so i thought i'd be able to make a good film about it. Little did i know the pressures that come with it.

Although i had a solid idea of what i wanted visually it was much harder keeping in contact with my subject as much as i'd like. I had a few skateboarders lined up to be involved but the communication between us both just went dry, i left it to long and there was no way of securing it so it would be ready in time for the shoot deadline.

Instead i've chosen to make my film about fixed cycling. Again it's something i am passionate about, its my summer sport and theres nothing more relaxing than this. At times it's hard to, its challenging and is unlike any other form of cycling, but thats why i love it. I can really get away, escape and just go to any place I like. Summer is the best as its the pure feeling of the pedals attached to your feet and the wind hitting your face. The speed of fixed cycling is something that really makes you want to go faster, its a feeling that I would love to capture that in a film, any cyclist could appreciate. Thats why i've chosen them to be target audience

Not to many people are aware of fixed cycling apart form the well informed commuters, and 'hipster' kids. My aim is to raise awareness, show people its the raw form of cycling and the origins of what it is today, its simple and cheap to maintain and is unlike any other experience on a bicycle.

The film will be 5 minutes long, featuring a short trip from Birmingham to Wales in a car. showing a person getting away and just getting on the open road of the country on their bike and enjoying every minute of it, showing the challenge, the nature and most importantly the simplicity of it.

The name for my is VÉLO. its short, its simple and to the audience its intriguing.

Thanks for reading,

Adam
