There is a report on the BBC this morning about a pioneering piece of work with a patient who had his spinal cord severed in 2010 leaving him paralysed from the chest down. Scientists took cells from his nose and cultivated them in the lab and then implanted them in his spinal cord with a nerve from his ankle.
