These are the lines I always here in the corporate world.
It is important for leaders to do what they are suppose to do with their subordinates. Isn't also better for them to follow the rules they set with their direct reports? Following or doing what they preach is a very nice tool to promote leadership. How can someone trust the leaders initiative if he/she will not do it.
Model the behavior. Implementing party should also model what they have observed best for their employees.
